About Brian Fair
Professional Photographer and Photographic Artist, Retired
Past Qualified Licentiate member: Master Photographers Association, British Institute of Professional Photography and Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers and member NUJ. Founder member and Director AIM-HI, the Association of Integrated Media - Highlands and Islands. Brian was an active committee member of the UK's leading professional photography body, the BIPP, for the Scottish Region. He has mentored a number of young students. Brian has won many Awards in his long career, a fascinating career which has taken him all over the world including Italy, Malta, Morocco, the Galapagos Islands and the USA.
Brian worked in journalism and the media in Glasgow during the early part of his profession - in newspapers and television - travel and PR - corporate and commercial sectors.
In more recent years he has been based in Argyll with his partner Sue Anderson, and has worked on the west coast Hebridean Islands and Scottish Highlands, where he specialised in digital wedding, portrait and people photography. He has also helped cultivate and develop Sue's Scottish landscape photographic stock library project.

Brian has been both a passionate and priveleged photographer - you can see this in his work which has shone over the years - from the joyous off beat smile of the happy bride on her wedding day, or the relaxed wave from royalty opening yet another building - from the early days of the Beatles and Cliff Richard visiting Glasgow, to HRH Prince Charles dropping in on the Island of Coll, Mrs Frances Shand Kidd on her bicycle in Balvicar to the smiling couple umbrellad in the grey rain at the Callanish Stones in Lewis. Brian's work has been so varied, so inspiring and so rewarding.
Today, he is doing his own thing in photography. He is now enjoying his art at a new level, doing some photography ...."just for himself" as he says....
